Exploring the Seas and Beyond with Maison Pierre Cardin

Meeting with Maison Pierre Cardin on March 4th at Atelier de Lumière in Paris during Paris Fashion Week (a digital art center hosting several important exhibitions).

Fasten your seatbelts or better yet, put on your oxygen tanks as we are about to dive into the sub-aquatic universe imagined by Pierre Cardin.

At Pierre Cardin, we can explore various worlds, and that's what Rodrigo Basilicati Cardin, the nephew and heir of Pierre Cardin, who has taken over the direction of the Maison, has done. He has combined the futuristic universe with the Maison's DNA and his passion for the marine world.

According to Basilicati, fashion needs to and should address relevant issues such as space and the ocean, which are extremely important for the future of our planet. Paying attention to technological discoveries in the space and marine universe, the brand has taken a big step towards more eco-responsible fashion with the use of recycled fabrics or fabrics from the Maison's stock, as well as a fabric developed by NASA.

The Maison has invited us to an immersion through images reflecting dolphins, whales, sharks, and turtles on a journey between the celestial infinity and the marine depths. The sparkle of stars, the fluidity of waves, and cosmic energy were explored throughout the collection.

Vibrant colors, metallics, textures, and pocket details reminiscent of astronauts' garments, two-tone dresses heritage of Mrs. Cardin's era, and fluidity with drapes resembling fins. In addition to the launch of the new "Wave" sunglasses, a unisex eco-responsible model made in Italy in a limited and numbered edition.

According to Rodrigo Basilicati, this journey continues in the next show. Looking forward to it!
