Nissan Formula E and JU-NNA

Nissan Formula E and JU-NNA Join Forces to Create Exclusive Kimonos for Tokyo E-Prix.

As the only Japanese team on the Formula E grid, the Nissan Formula E Team is preparing a special reception for its competitors at the upcoming Tokyo E-Prix. In a unique collaboration with the renowned Japanese-British fashion brand JU-NNA, the Nissan team is preparing bespoke kimonos inspired by the colors and teams of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The initiative, aimed at embracing the Japanese tradition of omotenashi, highlights the significance of the event for Nissan, which takes pride in hosting its home race in the Formula E setting. Each competitor from the Nissan team will receive a personalized kimono reflecting the colors and identity of each of the 11 teams competing in the championship.

Jun Nakamura, founder of JU-NNA and renowned fashion designer, shared his excitement about the collaboration: "The kimono is a central piece of Japanese culture, and creating these exclusive pieces for Nissan is an honor.

Our collection aims to celebrate Japanese hospitality and showcase the beauty of tradition combined with contemporary design."In addition to being a unique expression of Japanese culture, the kimonos also have a positive environmental impact. By choosing the traditional Japanese attire, Nissan and JU-NNA are highlighting sustainability, as kimonos are virtually "zero-waste" products containing an entire roll of fabric without cuts.

For Tommaso Volpe, managing director and principal of the team, this collaboration is an opportunity to welcome competitors in an authentic and warm manner: "As a Japanese team, we are thrilled to showcase Japanese hospitality and passion for Formula E to our competitors. We look forward to welcoming them in Tokyo and sharing this unique experience."While Formula 1 and Formula E share similarities as motor racing series, there are significant differences between the two. While Formula 1 uses internal combustion engine cars, Formula E stands out as a fully electric championship, promoting innovation and sustainability in the automotive world.

As the Tokyo E-Prix approaches, anticipation and excitement are growing not only among competitors but also among fans of Formula E and fashion, eager to see this unique blend of sport and Japanese culture come to life. This collaboration not only highlights the importance of the Tokyo E-Prix for Nissan but also reinforces Formula E's commitment to promoting innovation, sustainability, and cultural diversity in its global racing community.

The Tokyo E-Prix promises to be a unique celebration of sport, culture, and fashion, bringing to life the passion and creativity that drive Formula E forward.
