Double Michelin-Starred Chef Adam Simmonds Appointed Chef Patron at The Megaro Hotel

The Megaro Hotel, renowned for its vibrant and unconventional approach to hospitality, is thrilled to announce Adam Simmonds, a chef with a brilliant track record and two Michelin stars, as its new Chef Patron. Starting in June 2024, Simmonds, known for his culinary excellence, is set to revitalize the gastronomic scene at The Megaro, beginning with a new menu for the hotel's Italian restaurant, Spagnoletti.

Adam Simmonds has garnered significant praise throughout his career, having worked under the guidance of Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons before earning his first Michelin Star at Ynyshir Hall in Wales, and his second at his own venture, Adam Simmonds at Danesfield House. His commitment to quality, sustainability, and the provenance of ingredients are principles he brings to his new role at The Megaro.

This summer, visitors to Spagnoletti can look forward to a shared menu that reflects Simmonds’ signature light touch, yet with more robust flavours coming through. The menu will feature innovative dishes such as La Latteria Burrata with peas, coriander, lemon, and summer truffle; open ravioli of scallop with morels, broad beans, and confit garlic; veal Milanese with brown butter and chervil; and orange polenta cake with bitter orange curd and cardamom ice cream.

As a gastronomy enthusiast and admirer of Adam Simmonds’ work, I am particularly eager to experience his culinary creations. The description of the open scallop ravioli alone tantalizes the taste buds and heightens expectations for an exceptional dining experience. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere of Spagnoletti is the perfect backdrop to appreciate the culinary art of a chef as talented as Simmonds.

Erika Visentin Bonomo, Director of Operations at The Megaro, highlighted Simmonds’ extensive achievements: "Adam is undoubtedly one of the UK’s most brilliant, innovative, and committed culinary talents. From elevating UK restaurants to Michelin star status, winning TV’s 'The Great British Menu', to launching pioneering London pop-ups like The Test Kitchen, he continues to impress. We are delighted to have him as a partner."

Michelin stars are indicative of an exceptional dining experience and signal a chef’s dedication to the highest standards of cooking, dramatically increasing a restaurant’s visibility and prestige. As more people seek refined dining experiences, Michelin-starred restaurants like Spagnoletti, under Simmonds’ leadership, play a crucial role in setting global culinary trends and standards. Adam Simmonds' arrival at The Megaro is a testament to the ever-evolving culinary landscape, where innovation meets tradition at the heart of London.
