Winter Trends 2023

As we bid farewell to the sizzling heat of summer welcoming the crisp embrace of autumn, it’s time to step into the much-awaited trends for the autumn-winter season of 2023. From the catwalks to the streets, this year’s fashion forecast promises an exquisite blend of classic comfort, daring innovation and customised comfort.

Statement pieces: big, bold & broad shoulders

To the current days still very linked to when it made it’s debut on the fashion scene in the 80’s, the bold shoulders has been resignified through out the decades becoming a symbol of modern feminism bringing a strong and structured silhouette, bossing up any look when added such as an outside coat. The bold shoulders are one of the main statements pieces upcoming for the next Fall.

Trench coat reformulated

As a timeless classic, changing the game since the early 20’s, the trench coats are back (as if they ever went anywhere). It has always been present in most fashion enthusiasts’ wardrobe, however this winter brings innovative and different approaches being reintroduced with patterns

multiple textures, giving the basic elegant an extravagant look. Diverging from the beige colour and precise fit we are used to, brands are exploring textures such as faux leather and silk. The versatility stays, allowing the overcoat to elevate an outfit simply by leaving in the streets.

Tartan is heritage for a reason

With a strong Scottish background and today known as the main signature print of the English fashion house Burberry, the tartan is feared by many as it is not as friendly and easy to style as other patterns, even though the singular effect can be found in no other when done right. Returning in many sizes and combination of colours, extravagant and over the top accessories must stay away. Leather goods in a suiting color and shape are always welcome as instead of fighting with each other the different textures create contrast and proportion.

Maxi coats: More is more

Following the lines of a mighty torso the maxi coats come as an alternative. In countless textures and shapes and easily found with elongated shoulders, the cover all coats can be used to bring a pop of color or accentuate the sharpness of an outfit. Presented in many shapes and for many styling purposes maxi coats are extremely adaptable for any age, depending of course on the image desired to be achieved.

It is evident that this season is all bout embracing the fashion heritage and celebrating the individuality of how it can be pursued, bringing countless different perspectives and proposals into life.

As the days grow shorter and the night turn colder, let these trends be your guide when in doubt, inspiring you to curate a wardrobe that reflects your unique personality and style. Even though trends are fundamental in the fashion industry they are not the rule, it’s always about expressing yourself fearlessly, pushing boundaries and discovering your own fashion identity
